Diving In – $0.99 for only a few more days!

Diving In

Because anxiety disorders are fun and sexy! Diving In is now available at Amazon, Kobo, and Barnes & Noble for only $0.99 until this weekend, when it goes up to $3.99. A loose sequel to The Supermodel’s Best Friend (it’s not necessary to have read that one first), Diving In is about a teacher who grapples with her many phobias on a summer trip to Hawaii–and finds more than she hoped for with the fun-loving playboy who broke her heart at eighteen.

Read the first few pages for free here.

To everyone who buys from iTunes: my huge apologies. Apple has a much slower approval time, and the book is waiting in their queue. It could be this week or next before it goes live–possibly later. If you want a copy ASAP, send me an email and we’ll figure something out.

Here are the links to Diving In at various retailers:
Amazon US
Amazon UK
Amazon AU
Barnes & Noble

I’ll post the Apple/iTunes link as soon as it’s live. Happy reading!

p.s. Yes, I changed the cover! A chorus of reader voices preferred the illustrated cover design over the photo one, so I was happy to change direction.

Diving In: Final cover design and early teaser blurb

practice supermodel ai coverHere it is: the final cover design for Diving In, coming to your online book retailer in three weeks*. THREE. Look at that beach. The bare skin. The promise of warm, hot . . . sun . . .

Going crazy never felt so good…

For popular teacher Nicki Fitch, a summer in Hawaii is the perfect opportunity to overcome a lifetime of phobias. But will she have the courage to take on Ansel Jury-Jarski, the fun-loving playboy who broke her heart at eighteen?

I need to finalize the rest of the “back cover” or blurb. It’s a skill I haven’t quite mastered. Sometimes it feels easier to write the 85,000 words between the covers than the 300 on the back of it. Or 200. 1000? Argh! LOL. Coming soon!

*I don’t give an exact publication date because the process isn’t totally under my control. I’ll send out a newsletter as the ebook goes live at various stores–so sign up if you haven’t already! I only send out emails about a new book–no spam.

Kindle 3 Crash = Case = Bummer

My Kindle3 kept crashing, but I didn’t want to admit there was a problem. I was blaming the free downloads from Sourcebooks (sorry, Sourcebooks) because the problem seemed to go away when I deleted them.

No. That wasn’t it.

I finally took the time (oh, such effort) to Google “kindle crash.”

The answer was quick and unanimous: it’s my new leather cover (the Amazon leather cover for the latest gen Kindle (3), without the light.)

The geeky folks over at Slashdot have a lot of fun with the idea that the metal in the cover’s hinge is somehow interfering with the device. And as soon as I took my baby out of the cover, it stopped crashing. ABC News ran an article about the problem, which I missed, complete with a phone number to call for help. I guess I’ll call Monday, see what they say or do.

So, don’t blame your free downloads. Or Sourcebooks.
